Article on Roster Depth

Just my thoughts below:
Could Vince Young go 2-2 for the Bills? I think he could, easily go 2-2 for the Bills.
Fred and CJ are both more than capable of going for 1,000 yards.
Assuming Stevie and D. Jones are our starters (because they were last year) Nelson and Graham and Easley are our next three guys. I think Graham or Easley could bump to the outside and get 4-6 per game.
Behind Chandler, I am not sure. I know there are a lot of prospects, but nothing proven.
2 Experienced O-Linemen...I worry about the Swing Tackle and Reinhardt is good enough to play either G and Urbik can move to C well enough.
3rd DT is Heard, Edwards, Troup, or Carrington. I think we are OK there.
Pass Rush Specialist would be Merriman who is very underrated agains the Run.
We have lot of Depth at CB IMO.
Searcy and Scott are guys who could come in for Byrd and Wilson and get it done, we've seen it before.
Special Team Guys: I think its too early to tell who will be in the category, but we have a deep roster of guys who will be competing for those final spots that usually come down to STs.
I thought this was really interesting and began thinking about our guys now and our guys just two years ago. I think we are much better off than we have been since the late 90's.
What do you guys think?

05/18/2012 Signed second-round draft selection (41st overall) OT Cordy Glenn
05/17/2012 Signed first-round draft selection (10th overall) CB Stephon Gilmore
05/14/2012 Signed free agents FB Dorin Dickerson, T James Carmon and S Nick Saenz.
05/11/2012 Agreed to terms with free agent QB Vince Young
05/10/2012 Agreed to terms with the following draft picks: fourth-round selections (105th overall), LB Nigel Bradham and (124th) CB Ron Brooks, fifth-round selections (144th) T Zebrie Sanders and (147th) LB Tank Carder, sixth-round selection (178th) OL Mark Asper and seventh-round (251st) K John Potter
05/07/2012 Signed RB Fred Jackson to a contract extension
04/28/2012 Selected DB Stephon Gilmore (Round 1, 10th overall), T Cordy Glenn (2-41), WR T.J. Graham (3-69), LB Nigel Bradham (4-105), DB Ron Brooks (4-124), T Zebrie Sanders (5-144), LB Tank Carder (5-147), OL Mark Asper (6-178) and K John Potter (7-251) in the 2012 NFL Draft.
04/23/2012 G Kraig Urbik and G Chad Rinehart accepted their tenders and signed their contracts
03/24/2012 RB Tashard Choice agreed to re-sign with the team
03/21/2012 Signed free agent DE Mark Anderson
03/21/2012 Agreed to terms to re-sign DB Bryan Scott
03/19/2012 Re-signed WR Derek Hagan
03/15/2012 Signed free agent DE Mario Williams
03/09/2012 Agreed to terms on a contract extension with LB Kirk Morrison
03/08/2012 Agreed to terms on a contract extension with TE Scott Chandler
03/07/2012 Signed WR Ruvell Martin to a contract extension
03/05/2012 Re-signed WR Stevie Johnson
02/07/2012 K Rian Lindell signed to a contract extension
02/07/2012 Pete Metzelaars hired as Tight Ends coach
I would suggest that our LB situation isn't dire. At MLB, Sheppard will surprise, and he has Scott McKillop and Tank Carder backing him. At SLB, Nick Barnett, with Arthur Moats spelling him, and Chris White in depth. At WLB, Kirk Morrison, Bryan Scott, Danny Batten, and Nigel Bradham. We may keep all 4 due to special teams.

Why'd you leave out Nelson? He did that last year; went in for a starter and got 4-6 per game. but i do think we use more 3 or 4 receiver sets than most teams, so Graham or Easley needs to step up

I also found the comment amusing that "several teams" told Kirwin the Pats* could survive a month without Brady. Seriously?

LB is not the problem on this defense. On paper they have talent and depth across the board; it is only a function of how quickly they assimilate to Wanny's scheme and mesh as a unit.

Nelson is not going to step into the "Outside Receiver" role. He is a slot player. That is why I did not include him. I was thinking in terms of one of the outside guys going down and who would need to fill in.

I agree w/ the LB assessment. Tank and McCillop will suprise people.

QB: yes, Young could win some games, Chan would find a way to make him dangerous
RB: yes, CJ is ready to being a major contributor
WR: no, right now I would say no. We have tremendous players in the slot but as flankers we have unproven talent.
TE: no, Lee Smith excells as a blocker but he's not a great athlete. After that? Onobun, Caussins? not very promising.
OL: yes, I feel Reinhart could start for a long period of time not dissapoint and I see Pears losing his job to a better player and become the savy vet at the position
DL: yes, Dwan Edwards and Spencer Johnson. I would consider Carrington a vet.
PRS: yes, Mark Anderson is that guy and Arthur Moats is the other. Moats is penciled at LB but in an emergency he could move to the DL and rush the passer, he needs to get better against the run, though.
CB: yes, good young depth at CB, McKelvin will be that guy.
S: yes, if Wilson goes down you can plug Searcy or Scott, if Byrd goes down Wilson moves there.
