Apparently Scott is working with the first team: https://twitter.com/...331696130437122

Apparently Scott was on 5 teams last year starting with the Steelers in camp, and on the Bills twice: http://www.kffl.com/...nfl/chris-scott

Clicking around on the 2nd link and, it appears this guy was active for the Steelers for 2 games in 2011.

5th round draft pick of the Steelers in 2010. Was Tennessee's LT. http://www.steelers....c6-fd5eea10fc6f

Scott will likely make it to training camp, but that will likely be the end of the road for the Steelers 2010 fifth round draft pick. He was given every opportunity last year in training camp and the preseason to win the right guard spot and disappointed. He is not right tackle material either and his best shot at sticking with the Steelers would be by making the practice squad. I am not holding my breath for that to happen.

The forgotten draft pick. This gives a lot of detail:
http://www.steelersd...010-draft-pick/

Looks like the guy got injured his rookie year, and lost a lot of ground as a result, including getting cut. He's supposed to be a T, but, it looks like they are making him a G.

So, given all this? How do you like this solution?

Could be a sign of genius or a sign of desperation. Until we get some word on performance who knows?

Maybe he should have been a guard all along and that's why he never stuck anywhere... Or it is because our LG spot is that bad any anyone is a step up. Sorry this isn't really an answer but I need some empirical evidence of him in this role before I come to a conclusion. I'd like to think that he will be well suited for the role.

Anyone have measurables/combine results?

I'm thinking if we don't pick up a FA at the position of LG going into the season, then we'll see Sam Young as the starter there.  He's looked decent in the opportunites he's had, IMO.  It's a long ways to the pre-season and September.  It's certain, though - especially now that Whaley will be in charge (he's not going to want his first year to be marred by little oversights) - that if Marrone doesn't think whoever the bunch is at LG is capable of playing at a high level, then they'll bring someone in.  There are still options out there, and after the first few waves of cuts there'll be more.

LG is going to be an issue all year.

Still not sure why nobody was drafted/signed to replace Levitre, but hey, its the Bills, I'm used to this sort've decision making.

I wouldn't go as far as to say that Chris Scott is the "solution" at LG because he's getting some 1st team rep's during OTA's.  I suspect that we will see quite a few players getting 1st team rep's before a starter emerges.

6'4 320 lbs according to bb.com.

This site lists him at 6'5, 346. They say 19 bench press reps and a 5.49 forty at the combine, though they say he ran as fast as 5.22. Seems like he's slimmed down and could be a fit for the up tempo.

I will let it slide this time, but I will be watching you.

Any further offenses and the compensation will be: naked youtube pushups, or, a shrubbery.

Once you put 'LG' and 'Solution' in your title, everything else is lost.

There were 4 or 5 very good reasons that have been discussed on this board, on other boards, in the national sports media, and by the Bills organization directly. It's really not hard to figure out.

Yeah, and since Buddy has completely ignored the OL since he arrived, and since Marrone knows nothing about OL play, there's definitely reason for concern.

This.... I would not read anything into who is starting where during OTA'S especially in early days.

Oh ok. So there is no reason for concern after arguably your best, most versatile lineman leaves and the plan is to replace him with somebody on your roster that has little to no experience in the NFL?

Perhaps its wrong to jump to conclusions, but that tells me we should be concerned considering how this organization has operated that past decade...

Signing Kraig Urbik after the Steelers cast him off seems to have worked out pretty well. This team has done pretty well lately getting solid production out of lineman who aren't "name" guys.

Well, if we have him maybe we can get a bit of production. If anything, he's depth we could use, but I'm not going to be singing the Hosannahs anytime soon.

Urbik was a name guy.. not like Buddy had to look under every rock.  A highly rated Wisconsin lineman is not under the radar; not to anyone who follows the draft a little. he was projected as a 3rd round pick, and then got drafted in the 3rd round.  this wasn't so much of a "find" as it was our Oline was desperate so  we signed one of the highest rated interior Olineman of that draft class available.  bit of a no-brainer.

not to say something can't be made of Scott... Brandon Moore was a nobody before Marrone go ahold of him.  but i wouldn't say we've done it before recently.
