After another week where the Bills found a way to lose despite a valiant effort, it came to me to think - what is the single play from the history of this franchise defines this team.  Most people I think would think that the Scott Norwood missed FG may be the defining play in franchise history.  However, my thoughts is the below.  Helluva an effort, but as it was the end of the half...comes up 3 yards short - all he had to do is run right to the open space...

Any other suggestions?

It is tough.

Its like 3 different teams.

You have the "class" of the AFL in the last years before the merger, and you have the Jim Kelly/Polian years

Other than that, this Franchise has won 1 playoff game in its history.

so Thigpen getting hit in head is my choice

I nominate whatever play preceded Lou Saban's famous rant "GOD ALMIGHTY!!  WHY DO WE DO THAT?!?!"

This franchise is known for losing 4 SBs in a row. All starts with wide right.

Glass half full: Beebe running back and stripping the ball from Leon Lett.
Glass half empty: Any other play from that game.

That McGee return is so painful to watch. He could have just pitched it back to any of the 5 guys standing right there too.

I watch the video now, and am like, "Just pitch it back, pitch it back."

Giants converted FOUR 3rd downs on this drive.  This being the most gut wrenching one.

I will go for the play that should not have counted -- the illegal forward pass (not lateral) that was at the end the Tennessee Titan playoff game.  It signaled the end of Wade Phillips and sent the Bills in a further spiral down to depths.
