McD has put together a quality coaching staff so far.

Yup.  Wouldn't have guessed it considering all the dysfunction talk.

more media BS, Pegs and Whaley just suck at press conferences, getting the job done is what really counts (not that they have so far)

True they're not good at lying to the press.

I tend to agree here BB. I'm much more concerned about the job than the press conference.

@BrentAxeMedia

Gotta give the #Bills credit. Rick Dennison (OC) and Leslie Frazier (DC) are pretty solid hires to go with Sean McDermott.

Ok, now I'm starting to get worried.

Too much consensus on the coaching staff being good?

Yep. I think I liked the BS "dysfunction" talk better.

Not me. Too much heightened passion as opposed to reasoned discussion based on the merits of the situation at hand as if the team should operate and make decisions based on the dreaded 17 years.

I think a normal fan in a normal NFL city would be open-minded - maybe even optimistic - about the coaching staff we're putting together.  There might be some uncertainty about a few of these guys but nothing to lead to doom and gloom expectations.

But as a fan of the Buffalo Bills, it seems the logical thing to do is expect failure.  We've failed for 17 years and there's no compelling reason to expect that streak will not continue.  We didn't - after all - hire Vince Lombardi.

It's completely your prerogative if you want to act as if the people running things now from ownership on down are responsible for 17 years and who the heck was Vince Lombardi before he instilled a winning culture in the Green Bay Packers who were much more of a sad sack franchise then than the Bills are now.

I'm glad they didn't hire Vince Lombardi. He's dead!

It's all about hope to me. Some have lost perspective on the situation,  they just assume, for protection, that the future will be the past.

I like to think a few of us are tough enough as fans to be hopeful. Not saying it's easy, but I see no reason to fall down the tunnel of despair before it happens.

[BN] Blitz: The major spots on Sean McDermott's staff have been filled, but there are still a few openings left. http://buffalonews.com/2017/01/20/updating-bills-coaching-staff-sean-mcdermott/

Offensive coordinator of the New York Giants that had just lost the NFL Championship, Greatest Game of All Time.

At least our guy won.

That was one helluva NYG staff with Tom Landry as the DC.

This is Whaley's 7th season with the team. Overdorf has been here 20. Russ has been here how long?

Maybe they aren't responsible for 17 years but damn sure not just 2.

McD has put together a quality coaching staff so far.

And when you look at this comparison with 2016, it is obvious that there were too many cooks and no leader on this team.

http://buffalonews.c...sean-mcdermott/

Every position had multiple assistants indicating either that the head was not doing his job or too many assistants with too many ideas.

This alone should help improve.
